For several years, Mike Wilson has been a beef producer on the side. Spending evenings and weekends on his Anderson County farm and days at his job at the auto repair garage he owns, has kept Wilson very busy. But thanks to education through the Master Cattleman program a one-on-one Kentucky Cooperative Extension partnership, Wilson may be on the way to being a full-time cattleman.

As agriculture producers have become more specialized, University of Kentucky College of Agriculture specialists are offering more commodity-specific field days to provide them with more detailed information about  specific production areas. In the past two years, the specialists have established two new field days. The newest, the Horticulture Field Day is June 27.

UK students now have access to nutrition information for on-campus eateries due to the work of a College of Agriculture graduate student and students in the College of Engineering.

The upcoming field day will offer up-to-date information and cutting edge research regarding Kentucky wheat production.
