LEXINGTON, Ky.—

It’s time to lace up the running shoes, get a little exercise and, in the process, support University of Kentucky agricultural education students. The 2018 Boot, Scoot, and Boogie 5K race will be April 14 at The Club at UK’s Spindletop Hall.

UK Department of Community and Leadership Development hosts the annual run/walk event as a fundraiser for an endowed scholarship fund for agricultural education students in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment.

The family-friendly, timed race begins at 9 a.m. EDT. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the importance of agriculture in Kentucky and the United States, as they compete on the nearly level course.

Organizers will present awards for overall and age group place finishers. There will be raffles and a DJ will provide musical entertainment. If registered by April 1, participants will also receive a race T-shirt.

Spindletop Hall is located at 3414 Iron Works Pike, Lexington. Registered racers may pick up their packets the morning of the race. The registration fee is $30. To register online, go to http://bit.ly/BootScootBoogie.
