UK launches new "Branching Out" podcast
The University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food and Environment’s new podcast, “Branching Out,” premieres July 1 and will feature ways the college is making a positive impact on the world.
The podcast, produced and hosted by Brian Volland, UK agriculture communications specialist, will feature guests with a unique connection to the college. Possible guests include successful alumni, extension agents and stakeholders. New podcasts will be released on the first and third Wednesday of the month. Volland said the scope of the program will reach beyond the UK campus.
“We are going to talk about how the college is influencing people around the world, not just in Kentucky,” said Volland.
The first podcast will feature Lane Warmbrod, a 2016 UK agricultural and medical biotechnology graduate, who works as an analyst and research associate at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security in Baltimore, Maryland. Warmbrod has been on the front lines consulting with the World Health Organization concerning COVID-19.
Volland said each podcast will vary in length with most lasting between 10 to 15 minutes. “Branching Out” can be found at iTunes or Apple podcasts or directly from the college’s homepage at http://www.ca.uky.edu/podcasts.
