Louisville Garden Gives Homeless Youth Hope

A vegetable garden at the Y-M-C-A Safe Place in Louisville is giving homeless youth hope.

A Y-M-C-A Safe Place for homeless youth in Louisville is giving them hope. One of the reasons for that hope, is a vegetable garden on the grounds of the Y-M-C-A, where the city's homeless and unstably housed youth are learning about gardening and how to prepare the food they grow. A partnership between the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment and the Y-M-C-A Safe Place began four years ago, thanks to a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant, and is paying dividends.
