Healing the land, after being scarred by years of strip mining and neglect, is the goal of the owner of Flying Rooster Farm in Southeastern Kentucky. Students in the Whitley County FFA program spent a day at the farm, planting trees and learning more about different habitat improvements that have been implemented on the six-hundred acre tract. There is still more work to be done, but that didn't keep the high school students who look forward to returning to the farm one day, to see the fruits of their labor.
