The Kentucky Small Business Development Center (SBDC) proudly congratulates two Kentuckians named America’s SBDC 40 Under 40 awards.

Lexington, Ky.—

The Kentucky Small Business Development Center (SBDC) proudly congratulates two Kentuckians named America’s SBDC 40 Under 40 awards. The winners include Jamie Johnson of the Kentucky SBDC in Owensboro and Kayla Keeton, strategy analyst and outreach coordinator of the Kentucky SBDC state office. 

"I am honored to be named one of the America’s SBDC 40 Under 40. I am grateful that I have the opportunity to work with so many entrepreneurs and small businesses in the Owensboro area,” Johnson said. “My goal has always been to help our community grow and become a better place to live and raise a family. A big thank you to the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation for their continued support of myself and the SBDC.” 

“Being selected for the America’s SBDC 40 Under 40 award is an incredible honor,” Keeton said. “I am grateful for the support of the Kentucky SBDC network and the opportunity to share this award with other young professionals throughout the nation.” 

Kentucky SBDC state director Kristina Joyce lauded the accomplishments of both award recipients. 

“Jamie Johnson and Kayla Keeton have exhibited outstanding leadership, dedication, and innovation in their respective roles,” she said. “Their recognition in America’s SBDC 40 Under 40 awards is a testament to their exceptional contributions to the small business landscape in Kentucky. We are immensely proud of Jamie and Kayla and their well-deserved achievements.” 

The prestigious 40 Under 40 awards acknowledge young professionals who have demonstrated remarkable accomplishments and leadership in small business development. Johnson and Keeton’s recognition further highlights Kentucky SBDC’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent and fostering entrepreneurial growth. 

Kentucky Small Business Development Center is co-sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration and is administered by the University of Kentucky Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment in partnership with regional academic institutions, economic development organizations, the private sector and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
