Cold weather clothing closet will warm UK students

Students in the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food and Environment are gathering cold weather clothing items to benefit UK students, as well as the Lexington community.
The students, who are enrolled in General Agriculture 302, are asking for donations of new or gently used, clean coats, hats, gloves and scarves in all sizes, including children’s sizes. Donations should be brought to Room N8 in the Agricultural Science Center through Dec. 5.
Donated items will go into what the students are calling their “cold weather clothing closet,” which will be open to members of the UK community. All students, including international students who might be unprepared for severe cold weather, are encouraged to drop by Room N8 to pick up clothing for themselves and their family members. Closet hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 1-4 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 5. The only requirement for picking up clothing is a valid UK ID. Faculty sponsors of graduate students are welcome to pick up items for their students.
After Dec. 5, any remaining items will be donated to the Salvation Army.
