UPDATE: This seminar has been postponed due to inclement weather. Organizers will reschedule it for a later date.

The University of Kentucky Equine Initiative and the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association are partnering for a third year to bring Kentucky horse owners and breeders an educational seminar. The Kentucky Quarter Horse Association’s third annual Breeders’ Seminar, which is open to owners of all breeds of horses, will be held Jan. 31 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Phillips Lane in Louisville. The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST.

The seminar features guest speakers who will touch on many different topics related to the horse industry. Those topics include a discussion about the horse owner of the future; pasture management; marketing; health programs for the young growing horse; orthopedics; managing the breeding horse during the show season; and an update from the Kentucky state veterinarian.

UK Equine Undergraduate Studies Director Bob Coleman said the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association’s Breeders’ Seminar is a great opportunity for horse owners of all breeds to learn new information about breeding and raising horses.

“We have a tremendous resource of people who are leaders in the horse industry and this seminar allows horse owners the opportunity to learn from them,” he said.

Registration is $25 and will be accepted up through the morning of the event. For questions about the seminar, please call 859-257-9451. For hotel reservations, please contact the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 800-633-8723 or 502-367-2251. For more information, visit the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association’s Web site .
