Donna Smith, associate professor in the family studies department of the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture’s School of Human Environmental Sciences, is the faculty recipient of the 2007-08 Ken Freedman Outstanding Advisor Award.
Each year, UK honors one faculty member and one staff member with the award for outstanding service in the field of academic advising. Smith received her award during a recent luncheon.
Smith joined the Department of Family Studies faculty in 1981. Her expertise in early childhood education and in family development has been recognized by local, state and national organizations which have invited her to speak. Smith has published extensively through her research focused on divorce and step-parenting.
