The National Association of Agricultural Educators premiered its first-ever documentary to celebrate National #TeachAg Day.

University of Kentucky graduate Whitney Evans was featured in a National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) documentary entitled "It Starts in the Classroom." To celebrate National #TeachAg Day, NAEE premiered the documentary at The Kentucky Theatre on Sept. 19.

Evans graduated in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in career and technical education from the UK Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment Department of Community and Leadership Development. NAEE featured Evans and Penn State University student Brandon Bixler as they navigated student teaching, graduating, applying to jobs and starting their first year as agriculture teachers.

A first-generation college graduate, Evans now works at Seneca High School in Louisville. When asked during the premiere's Q&A session why she loves to #TeachAg, she said, "Being representative for everybody—the people that came before me, the people that are with me, and the people that will come after me."
