The event will showcase how improved pasture management can be implemented on a working farm in Central Kentucky.

VERSAILLES, Ky.—

University of Kentucky’s Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment will host an Equine Field Day 2025 from 4-8 p.m. EDT Monday, June 23 at Endeavor Farm in Versailles, Kentucky. Admission is free and a meal will be provided.

“This event will highlight what real-world farms can accomplish through small improvements in pasture management, including the establishment of novel-endophyte tall fescue,” said Krista Lea, agricultural extension specialist specializing in equine forages and one of the event planners. “There will also be hands-on demonstrations of hay sampling and evaluation.”

The event will showcase impactful improvements on the Endeavor Farm which can be adopted by the average horse owner. Topics include improved pasture management, novel endophyte tall fescue and hay evaluation. Interested attendees are also provided with a farm tour, led by the farm managers who are UK alums.

“As UK alumni ourselves, it's a gratifying experience to be able to continue to work with our university, and especially with our former classmate, Krista Lea. When we were in school together, I don't think any of us could have envisioned that we'd still be collaborating with each other in this capacity 20 years later,” said Keith Haag, partner and farm manager of Endeavor Farm.

"The help that we've received from Krista and her team has been invaluable to our farm. Our pastures are doing better than ever, and we get compliments constantly. Now coming full circle and being able to host an event where we get to show off the fruits of this collaboration is really special for us," adds Haag.

Reservations can be made via Eventbrite at https://EndeavorFieldDay.eventbrite.com. The event’s address is 3110 Old Frankfort Pike Versailles, KY 40383.
