In one Kentucky county, farmers who are primarily beef producers, implemented a total farm management plan in 2017, lead by their University of Kentucky agricultural extension agent. Now those farmers are reaping the benefits from improved forages, beef cattle genetics, and wildlife and forestry habitat. It's part of a plan to work more closely with farmers on an individual basis rather than a classroom.
