The use of a center pivot, a system used to irrigate crops on large-scale farms, doesn't have a long history in Kentucky. Therefore there hasn't been a lot of research conducted with the use of a center pivot until now. A University of Kentucky professor is looking at how a center pivot can be used as a variable rate irrigation system and the cutting-edge research is conserving water while preventing soil erosion. (Read the full story here)
