The University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service’s Healthy at Home newsletter is now available in Spanish. The online publication offers educational information for individuals and families, as they work through various impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We decided to translate our newsletter into Spanish, because we did not want language to be a barrier to accessing information that can help individuals and families work through the effects of COVID-19,” said Laura Stephenson, director of UK Cooperative Extension Service.

In the weekly newsletter, UK extension specialists, who are experts in diverse fields, cover various COVID-19-related topics in agriculture and natural resources, family and consumer sciences and 4-H youth development. By providing the most up-to-date research in the newsletter, they hope to help individuals and families improve and maintain their mental, physical, emotional and financial health during this time of uncertainty. They also want to help people remain socially connected and keep a positive attitude as they shelter at home. Examples of topics in past issues include talking to children about COVID-19, accessing food during school closures, handling financial stress and working together while staying apart.
